Hi Friends!
I have some BIG news to share with you! My brand-new cookbook, ITALIANISH, is now officially available for preorder! 🎉
I have been working on this book almost every day for the last 18 months, and I’m so happy/nervous/excited/anxious that it’s now for sale! Let me tell you a little of how it came to be:
I first started getting attention as a chef for my colorful approach to fresh pasta (which was the subject of my first cookbook, Danny Loves Pasta), and I had a lot of success with a video series where I made cartoon characters out of ravioli for my older daughter. One month my after my cookbook was published my second daughter was born, and things in our household went a little crazy. Our daughter had terrible colic, and spent all day and night screaming at the top of her lungs. I was constantly tired and frazzled, I had no interest in cooking, and l completely lost my creative energy.
Dinner became a chore. With a newborn and a picky toddler, I found myself in a rut that many people go through: making the same things over and over, and unsure how to break out of the routine. I wanted to try new recipes, but couldn’t imagine putting in the effort knowing there was a good chance my daughter wouldn’t eat a single bite.
So I started thinking back to my own childhood and the Italian-American food my family used to make, and wondered how I could adapt these dishes for our hectic life. I took flavors I knew my family liked, but came up with new and simple ways to use them. Think one-pot or sheet-pan meals, or new twists on old classics. Things like Lasagna Soup, Sheet Pan Shrimp Scampi, Beef Braciole Salad, or Tiramisu Brownies. They were simple, my family loved them, and Italianish was born.

Italianish covers the full spectrum of Italian-American cooking, from snacks to main courses to desserts. There’s a whole chapter on vegetarian main courses, and of course one on pasta dishes as well. There are over 100 brand new recipes, and I hope some of them will become your new favorites!
The book is now for sale for preorder wherever you buy your books, and my publisher is putting a big emphasis on preorders. The number of preorders I get in the next few weeks will determine how many copies they print, how much marketing they put behind the book, and how much publicity it will get.
Of course there is no pressure, but if you think you'll purchase the book it would so helpful if you preordered it early. It is available through all the major book sites, and you can also ask your local bookstore to order a copy for you. I've put links below to a few places where you can get it:
Amazon - Amazon will likely lower the price before publication date and you will get the lower price
Bookshop.org - Support independent bookstores, and on sale now!
Thank you all so much for your support, it means so much to me! Back to the regularly scheduled newsletter next week…

Thank you!
Danny
Fabulous! Just pre-ordered from my favorite DC bookstore, Bold Fork Books, & I even violated my “cookbook diet” to buy it. 😘😘
